Tomato and strawberry plants deliver the same amount of fruits with a comparative quality when grown in a climate friendly manner. That's the conclusion of the researchers at ILVO and Research Centre Hoogstraten after large scale trials. In the growing media, peat or stone wool was replaced with more sustainable alternatives, such as wood fibres or green compost. And it appears to work well.
